Being
measured against other communities in Scotland and throughout Britain needs
a very special effort and Falkland in Bloom recognises the huge amounts of
help received from large numbers of people. Householders and business owners
do the village proud in ensuring their properties are well presented and the
many volunteers who help by tending displays round their homes do sterling
work. |

Valuable liaison has been developed in recent years with
other local organisations, including both Falkland Stewards and Fife Air Cadets
Conservation groups, along with Fife Ranger Service and school and youth
groups. Our group can also depend on support from Falkland Community
Council and Fife Council, the latter ensuring that public grass areas are
cut and tidied and sustainable planting pruned. |

As a Royal Burgh, we have the privilege of having our own
street sweeper who works hard at keeping our streets and public areas clean
and litter-free. |

2003 saw our first ever attempt to obtain sponsorship and
we remain grateful for the support of Lomond Electrical, Rollo Davidson
MacFarlane, Smith Anderson, Kettle Produce and
Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm for sponsoring displays for the year. |
