Britain in Bloom 2008...

An invitation to enter the Britain in Bloom campaign in 2008 is again an exciting and challenging prospect . A fourth occasion for the village in this prestigious event will see the community try to emulate its past success, with a Gold Award being made in 2006 along with an invitation to represent the UK in the Village Category in Europe’s Entente Florale in 2007.

One aspect to be emphasised in this year’s campaign is the celebration of local history and heritage through displays and activities from community participation, under the title of “Local Roots”. Having won a special award for community involvement in our last entry in the Britain in Bloom campaign, we feel that, backed by other local voluntary groups, we can again give a good account of what takes place in our village and local area, further demonstrating the parts played by groups and individuals.
